Today and tomorrow the Gamera team from the University of Maryland will be making official attempts at the Sikorksy Prize. If this prize wasn”t hard enough already, the competition is certainly making it so!

The Gamera team has been active since 2008 and is currently testing their second iteration aircraft the Gamera II. So far they have managed to reach 9.6 feet altitude and 65 seconds of flight on separate occasions. Their now trying to put it all together and stay within the 10x10m box with their new control system.
