Hi Everyone!

Wednesday April 2nd will be a day years in the making: the Snowbird Human-Powered Ornithopter will be put on permanent display in the Canadian Aviation and Space Museum in Ottawa! Many thanks to the Kenneth Molson Foundation and the museum organization for making this great event and installation possible. If you would like to attend, please register on Eventbrite here to ensure you have a seat.

The formal event will start with a lecture at 7pm presentation by Todd and Cameron on the Snowbird and AeroVelo’s other endeavours (including the Atlas Human-Powered Helicopter and our speedbikes). At 8pm guests will be invited into the museum for a reception and to see the aircraft on display for the first time.

Prior to the lecture, at 6:15pm the project team and the University of Toronto Institute for Aerospace Studies will be presented with the FAI Diploma recognizing the World-first flight of the Snowbird. Professor James DeLaurier will also be presented with the FAI Tissandier Award for his life’s work in advancing aviation. The public is welcome to attend the presentation (in the lecture theatre) but this will be separate from the formal program.

Hope to see you there!
